It is not only nature that makes a big impression, also the sloping hills covered with wild flowers like poppies and wild orchids leave you speechless. Somewhat later in the season you would see the big grain wheels, drying in the sun to serve as winter food for animals, or the numerous wonderful towns, each of them with its own characteristics, where time seems to stand still. With little shops full of artisan products, beautiful fabrics, cheeses, objects of forged iron. Most of these little towns have their own museum with art from Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance time.

The proximity of cities like Florence, Siena, Perugia and Rome makes it possible to make day trips to one of these beautiful cities. You can also enjoy one of the region's spas, a real treat for your muscles and bones! A visit to one of the handicraft cheese maker's is also worth while and not to forget a visit to the wineries where you can quietly taste the various world famous wines, that grow in our region.

In summer there are many festivals with concerts of high level, given at the most romantic sites, very often with the possibility of having dinner afterwards! If you love to paint: easel, paint and brushes are waiting for you to be used!

Podere Lucia "I Falchi" can be reached through a strada bianca, an unpaved road as there are many in Tuscany. It is situated a little outside the medieval town of Monticchiello, that was conquered by the army of Charles V in the beginning of the 1500´s, after a three weeks siege, trying to starve the population! Don't worry, that won't happen during your stay at our house! I promise you it will be a week of enjoying the good things of life, beautiful nature, culture, good food and wines and good weather!

From Florence airport it is a 5 quarters of an hour drive, from Rome and Pisa airports a little over two hours by car. It goes without saying that I'll send you a detailed route description in time.
